I assume only a vegetarian could answer this honestly - and probably depends on the reason they are one. If they feel strongly about not consuming animals from a 'cruelty' point they may not. I wonder what strict vegans do - or do they not have pets, probably not.

Prudie, unfortunately I've read of plenty of vegans who put their pets on vegan diets. There are specialist petfoods for that purpose.

I'm pretty sure cats need to have meat to be healthy. It would be hard to get them the nutrients otherwise.

Of course. We’ve been vegetarians for 40 years, and all our cats have eaten meat and fish.

Wouldn’t dream of trying to impose our way of life on others.
