Boil In The Bag Rice.

I bought some of these yesterday but notice that each bag holds two portions. Would it be safe to leave half the bag's contents to the following day?

Yes, but cool it quickly by running it under cold water, keep it covered in the fridge, and heat it very thoroughly when you use it.

I'm having the rice with a Thai red veg curry.
It was half price as yesterday was it's 'best before' date. I don't suppose it'll do me any harm.

sandyRoe, Uncle Ben do a pack of 'boil in the bag' rice, where each bag is one portion. I get this in B and M Stores, Morrison's also stock it. I think the portions work out around 30 pence each, so a handy thing to have in the cupboard.

Yes we do it pretty often, the Tilda Lime and Coriander seems to work well with a range of dishes.

I bet two portions is equal to one real portion, I doubt you will have much left over, if any

If you don't want to reheat it, you could make a rice salad.

Sandy, if you really don't want to use it all, open the bag and boil half of it in a saucepan, as per normal. Put the rest of the uncooked rice away for another time.

^it's not actually "uncooked" rice - it's cooked, you're simply reheating it (which I'd do in a microwave).
