No.
That would be worse than the 'minor accident' phone calls of a morning.
Probable get them every time there is a lot of rain or wind on its way. It used to be called a storm. :(

Will I get an alert if my energy bill hits £3.500.
No
Question Author
When will I get an alert? other than the test.
A 10 second alert on your phone is not an inconvenience to anyone. We live in increasingly perilous times ( its not the 1990's any more). Rapidly accelerating climate change is likely to bring more freak weather events, then there is Russia threatening us with nuclear war
never
unless we expect a tsunami or volcanic eruption
When will I get an alert? other than the test.

Severe acts of nature that may threaten life. Storms, Floods, Pollen counts, trees uprooted, Ben Nevis erupting, and nuclear, Chemical Bio-warfare attack

So if all that happens, what do I do next, dive under the stairs?
Not if you live in a bungalow.

Will I need stock up on toilet rolls?
Sort of underlines how useless it is.

put your hands over your ears & kiss your ass goodbye!
Will I need stock up on toilet rolls?

Only if you are of a very nervous disposition.
It's just another ruse to frighten the population (as if we didn't have enough to be frightened about). It's what THEY do.
Twice I have experienced the police driving round warning people to stay indoors with locked doors and windows. (Factory fire with asbestos and chemicals exploding; suspected gunman on the loose.)
This has got to be a better system.

In the mid 80s my parents came home from holiday to find their neighbours' houses wrecked by a tornado.

Not far from me many people put up with flooding to the extent their homes are damaged and people are evacuated.

These alerts can be very useful in any type of unforeseen event that is a threat to life and property. I really don't get why so many are objecting

I get all these silly alerts from Seven Trent Water. Its almost an excuse for,
"Look at how well we are doing our job" what a load of BS
