Hello, Can anyone give me the basic recepie for white bread in a bread maker?! I've lost my book during moving house, and want to make some for this week. All I can remember is water, oil (can't remember if sunflower or vegetable, dried skimmed milk, salt, sugar, flour and yeat - but can't remember the quantities other than 4 cups of flour for a 2lb loaf!

Many thanks,
Elaine

one and a half cups of water. 3 tablespoons of skimmed milk powder, 2 and a half tablespoons of sugar,2 TEAspoons of salt,3 tablespoons of oil (I use sunflower or olive),4 cups of strong white flour, 2 TEAspoons dried yeast.

I can smell it already!

I have a Goodmans breadmaker. My recipe doesn't use oil but uses butter.Put the ingredients into the pan in the following order:-

Water(I find warm works best) 275ml/9fl.oz
Strong white bread flour 450g/1lb
Dried milk powder 11/2 tablsp
Salt 11/2 teasp
Caster sugar 2 teasp
Butter 1 oz
Easy blend dried yeast 1/2 teasp

Although the recipe states 1/2 teaspoonful of yeast I have found that it works better with a whole sachet of yeast.

Hope this works for you.

300ml water
450g white bread flour
4 tsp skimmed milk powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp sugar
22ml olive oil
1 1/2 tsp dried yeast

Make sure you put them all in the correct order and put on the large white loaf setting.
