My wife has decided to try an alternative to Heinz as she thinks the price is now silly.  She buys either the small 200g tins or the snackpots, depending on which is cheaper.

Are Tesco beans any good?

I like tesco own brand beans and prefer them to heinz, but tesco Stockwell range are very good for all sorts of foods and good quality.

13.04 Not on this program, but I have seen such on TV and less and less people are able to pick the Big brands out now. so that goes to show theres little difference. Its all in the mind, and if you can get over that you will save money. Even when you taste your none braded baked bean for the first time, you may convince yourself that they are not like Heinz, the second time you wont notice anything.

I eat a lot of Weetabix, Weetabix being the BIG brand name, the price is crazy. I buy Aldi (Wheat Bisks) dirt cheap, and guess whats parked next to them sometimes, yep, the big brand name at the very high price. I can't tell the difference.

Tesco's own 'Wheat Biscuits' are half the price of Weetabix.

I never believed the myth that beans made you run and run, but the length of this thread would seem to confirm it 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️

All supermarket own brands are a  good alternative to Heinz beans or salad cream or sauces. We've tried them all and are very happy converts.
The only ones we preferred less were Branstons.

Remember the slogan?

Beans, means no friends! It was actually Heinz !

I prefere Branstons.

Looking forward to trying some home-grown varieties

Never store unused food in opened tins. That can cause serious illnesses.

Nicebloke, I can't remember the name of the TV programme I watched a couple of months ago but they said every brand of Weetabix type cereal sold in the UK is made in one factory, the factory that makes Weetabix.  The recipes may not be exactly the same but there is very little difference

i always bought Heinz reduced sugar beans until they put the price up so started to buy Aldi reduced sugar beans ,really nice but sadly they stopped stocking them so just buy Aldi beans now x

When I was a student many years ago, I had a holiday job for a few years in a cornflake factory. They made them for all the supermarkets but not Kelloggs as they made their own.
