I've recently rediscovered a regular favourite from my youth, a hot sweet mug of Horlicks, so nice on these cold evenings. It has also made me remember Ovaltine & Bournvita. Do they still exist? Does anyone else like Horlicks or any other winter warming milky drink?

I just mix the powder with a little milk to a paste in the mug, fill with milk and put in the microwave (watched) for a couple minutes. Stir, add sugar and done.
As kids, we were treated to a mug of Horlicks about once a week when mum took us shopping. We called into a coffee bar next to the bus station. The Horlicks powder was put into a metal container along with hot milk. The whole thing was then put under a milk frother like they use for cappuccinos and steam heated before being poured into a special mug that had what looked like a sticking out ear, instead of a traditional handle. Happy days, sadly long gone.
Blubster yes I regularly chose it in cafes when I was young, always used to be an option back then and came in a branded thick white mug with that solid handle. I know it's supposed to be a bedtime drink but I am having when I get in from work, it's freezing as the CH has not been on for long and it warms me up, it's also so comforting. I assume I love malt hence the Malteser passion.
