10.10. These products haven't hit the Supermarket shelves yet ..You will have to wait a couple of weeks before the increased price of these goods hit you in the pocket ...but they will..... Enjoy.

Gulliver 10.19  A price worth paying to rid us of the shackles of the EU

Question Author

These increased charges will be coming to a Supermarket near you shortly. Include foodstuffs ranging from frozen meat to eggs  Animal foods ,plants Shrubs etc . These checks are to safeguard animal and public health ..at a cost to the Brexiteers. enjoy.

There are plenty of farm shops throughout the UK which sell British food such as eggs, meat, vegtables etc, without having to resort to buying products produced in the EU. When shopping we make a point of checking where the good are from, and EU stamped items are put back on the shelve.  We have never gone hungry and at the same time are supporting British farmers.

... and those shackles were gramps ?

(real ones please, not Brexiteer's imaginary headliners)

Canary.  Among others: Not being able to make our laws but having to follow the dictate of the EU through the European Court of Justice. Not having full control of our borders (something they still want to interfere with, look at what Ireland want), being told how governments should spend our money. Not being able to fish in our waters etc etc etc

Question Author

These new border checks coming into force today are said to be to prevent "Foot and Mouth Disease" Which is what the present Tory govt and Brexiteers have always suffered from. They have shot themselves in the foot and they are always mouthing off.

Question Author

Tesco and Lidl have followed Aldi's lead and is increasing its price of supermarket essentials now . And that's even before these new Border document costs take effect.

Why are you so gleeful that you think life is going to get harder for some people Gulliver.  Rather unkind don't you think?

The prices of SOME essentials are due to increase but that's because of the effect of months of wetter than usual weather on crop yields - nowt to do with Brexit.

I doubt it nma.  He'd probably get a fist in it.

I'm just sick of the same old same old.

All the more incentive to grow/produce our own. And where that isn't practical, open import/export agreements with those who want to trade under reasonable rules.

Still determined to stick with suppliers in nations not being reasonable ?
