I watch Four in a Bed occasionally and am sometimes impressed how they cook the breakfast in a domestic kitchen without using every pot and pan they own.

How do you do it?

Everything apart from the eggs and beans goes into the oven or the air fryer in this household.

Even the mushrooms?  I cook the sausage and black pudding in the oven and fry the bacon but I can't get all the bacon in one very large frying pan.  I dislike cooking the eggs in the bacon pan as the eggs discolour but do pour the bacon fat over the eggs.  I fry the bread in the bacon pans.  Another pan for the mushrooms.

We don't have mushrooms.

I grill sausages and bacon and it all fits on the grill pan.
I fry tomatoes if we were to have them, and mushrooms and black pud, put them in a dish somewhere warm, wipe the frying pan out with kitchen roll then fry the eggs. Toast is done in the toaster, we don't eat fried bread. If we have baked beans they're heated in a small dish in the microwave.

I hate doing a cooked breakfast at home which is why I very rarely do one, we go out somewhere if we really fancy one and let them do the washing up 😋😁

I only cook it for visitors, we don't eat them.

Used to enjoy a good proper greasy spoon breakfast, and in a 'posh' cafe too.  Used to go to one in Ludlow where the waitresses wore black dresses, frilly aprons and caps

No wonder the English are generally in bad health.

That's why we only full Scottish breakfasts, healthier

Hmm,🤔

I nearly understood 🙄

Good Morning,

When I cook a full breakfast, I use, 1 pan and 1 baking tray along with a mug to heat baked beans.

For how many people, DDIL?

Good Morning Barry

Just 2.

//along with a mug to heat baked beans.//

Husband, wife or coffee cup?

Asking for a friend,,

Question Author

What goes in the pan and what goes in the oven?  I'm genuinely curious.

Good Morning 1ozzy,

The mug will by my partner who is the only one to eat beans.

Barry,

The sausages go in the oven along with hash browns, I cooked the bacon in a pan, which then keeps warm in the oven whilst I cook the mushrooms before adding the eggs and cooking them.

The only difference to that order would be if I did fried bread, then that would go in first, followed by the bacon and then both in the oven to keep warm.

Question Author

Thanks, DDIL.  I find the egg whites go black if I fry them in the same pan as the mushrooms and mushrooms don't keep hot very well.  You are obviously a better cook than me.

I don't like shop bought hash browns but will make tattie scones if I have left over mashed potato.

😨😭😫🥱

We don't have everything you've mentioned, Barry, just eggs, bacon, mushrooms & grilled tomatoes with buttered toast - so only two pans - but I wouldn't cook eggs in a pan I'd used for something else.  Nice fried eggs need a clean pan and fresh oil every time.

Good morning again Barry,

As I use a non stick pan, I just wipe it out and its ready to go, no black bits on my eggs and I don't have an issue cooking eggs in a pan that other food stuffs have been cooked in.

I am an extraordinary cook if I do say so myself.
