I recently tried a glass of wine that had a weird name and was apparantly made by monks in Devon. It was a red wine, cold and had something in it that made it sweeter and spicer. I'd describe it as a cold mulled wine / gluwein but sweeter. Anyone knoe what it's called?

Don't you realise Buckfast is best enjoyed straight from the bottle, under a bus shelter?!

Isn't this the one that was a big seller in Glasgow at one time ? Went under the name of 'buckie', I believe.
Apparently it rots your stomach! Still very popular in Scotland with under agers as a quick fix for getting drunk

I have now researched this on the internet and I keep finding stories about drunken youths and old men. Feel it would be bad for my credibility to buy it now ;0)
Try "two stroke" buckie mixed with cider.
I actually bought a bottle at Buckfast Abbey in Devon and felt it should have been sold in a plain brown paper bag. Tastes much as described, a sort of top of the market cough mixture.

I was coming down with a cold when I tasted it!!!!! Maybe that was why it seemed ok!
