This is how to make sloe gin (much better then neat gin in my opinion!)

Great minds think alike!!!!!
http://www.sloe.biz/sloes/index.htm in case you don't know what they look like, by the way.

Hi sddsddean - if you like the idea of doing it yourself - read the sloe.biz site.

Excellent forum, and loads of ideas to get busy with the home brew! Liqueueweb is great for all sorts of ideas too.

Terribile to promote alcohol though. Disgusting stuff. Makes you do all sorts of things...........disgraceful. Really shouldn't have anything to do with it....

Dead easy - if you have a sloe.

More than one surely?

Oh, grammar lessons is it?

Like punctuation? A comma should be placed following the '...one...' in the above reply if we're onto this tack now.

And note it is sloe.biz by the way, not sloes.biz, so there! (goes off in a huff to contribute to global warming - doesn't bother me - I'll be dead by the time the glaciers melt anyway........ grumble grumble......picky comments.....grumble grumble.....picking on me....4th word on my first post was clear enough to me ..........grumble grumble....)

Thanks everyone for your answers, sorry it caused a few arguments, best all sit down and have a glass. Cheers.
About 20% vol!!!
Sloe gin has sloes in it, sloes are the fruit of the blackthorn tree/shrub - you see it in hedges in the countryside, it has white flowers usually in April/May then sloes (which are like minature plums about the size of an olive) in late Sept/October. put sloes in large jar, add sugar and a bottle of gin, leave for a few months, shaking occasionally, then strain, bottle & enjoy!
For the record, sloe vodka and sloe whiskey works just as well!
You don't get drunk so quickly?????????? Er, maybe not.
