I'm thinking of brands such as 'Shan' or 'Lazeeza'. You can get a whole host of ready ground spices for curries from, Rogan Josh, to Korma and usually you'll just need to add some fresh ingredients such as tomatoes, onions, and yogurt.
The curries from these spices taste authentic, so much so that many asian households use these packet spices to make curries and pass them off as homemade!
You may need to go to an asian supermarket to purchase them, but my local tesco does them. Or you could order online at http://www.simplyspice.co.uk/masalas-curry-mixes-c-8.html
Definatley worth the effort!
