Places for lunch between Waterloo & London Bridge

Hello

I work near Waterloo and a friend works near London Bridge, which aren't that far apart. We would like to meet up for lunch about halfway between our offices. Can anyone recommend anywhere we could go for a quick lunchtime bite?

Somewhere in the vicinity of Blackfriar's Road, Union Street, Southwark Bridge Road or Borough Road would be ideal.

With the weather cheering up soon (aledgedly anyway) , what about down by the river near Blackfriars Bridge . There is one pub on the river (can't remember the name sorry) itself with a nice terrace area . Maybe a bit touristy but fine views of the city etc. If not a pub I think there are a few cafe/restaurants nearby also on the river.

Head over to Gabriel's Warf (along the Thames Path pretty much mid-way between London Bridge and Waterloo). There are a few restaurants, most with outside seating if weather permits. Gourmet Pizza kitchen is a particular favourite of mine.

Tas, the Turkish restaurant on The Cut is excellent, and, as Hendybug says, the Gourmet Pizza Place is very good. There's quite a nice tapas place off Blackfriar's Road too. The pubs on the river are universally awful when it comes to food - that one by Blackfriar's Bridge being particularly bad.

Thanks Maxi. I know Tas - went there for someone's leaving lunch last week. Very nice it was too! The Gourmet Pizza place in Gabriel's Wharf sounds excellent too. Will definitely suggest it to my friend.
