Milk Intolerance

I have recently had an intolerance test done, and I am supposedly intolerant to the following - cows/goats milk (including their cheese), beef, onion and cod. Looking around the supermarkets I am amazed at the amount of products that have 'milk' in them in one form or another.
Any suggestions for tasty snacks and meals, other than the usual salads?

Hiya,
I found out at christmas that im wheat intollerant, and what a **** its prooving to be!
I tend to have a lot of jacket potatoes with fillings, lovely!! or in most supermarkets now, they do sections, all be it very small ones with foods for people with the more common intolerances, like milk!
I'm intolerant to wheat, gluten, dairy, egg and yeast! You have no idea what a ******* that is when shopping LOL!! Yeah jacket potatoes I find are easy. Also theres loads of stuff you can do with pasta as long as you buy the what free obviously! Also I tend to eat a lot of rice.
If you want a really good milk substitute try Oatley. You can use it for cooking and it 's delicous to drink and it makes lovely porridge.Much nicer than soya.

could you take rice or soya milk. I had a test done but luckily I am only allergic to cow's milk but am fine ith goats but it's still a hassle as I love yoghurt and am not prepared to ay the ludicous prices of soya yoghurt. I like grilling lamb chops with rosemary and potatoes and I usually have veg or salad with balsamic vinegar as a side. For snacks I like carrots in hummus. Never thought I never checked the hummus for milk product. I love fresh salmon so often have that with rice or potatoes and steamed veg but I used to use cous cous which I love but that showed up on my test
Just read MAP71070's post. My cousin got the same test as me and is allergic to the same as you but a lot more beside. She has been making soda bread hich does not contain yeast and she uses soya milk instead of the buttermilk. If bread's a problem now - you could try this as there's loads of recipes for soda bread on the net and I made it even though I don't have a yeast problem as it's lovely.

Thanks for all suggestions, some 'food for thought' in there, pardon the pun!
I've suffered most of my life from a dairy allergy and I eat lots of normal food...just miss out the milk, that's all.
I never eat convenience and prepared foods. Real, fresh, food doesn't have milk in it. Try it.
