Can a restaurant refuse you a free class of tap water ?

i thought anywhere that serves alcohol are obliged to supply customers with free water or is it just bars and nightclubs?

they can refuse you ...........and they can if they wish charge you for it too

The charge is usually for 'use of the glass'.......
