I hope this wabbit said it's pwayews, cos i've never cooked one. I was thinking of stewing it with leek, pearl barley, chestnuts, turmeric & cumin, maybe some cashew paste & coconut...... Would that go with rabbit and what veges and/or wine?

Sounds real good. Rabbit stew is a wonderful dish; unfortunately not so popular in the UK currently. There's hundreds of recipes on line if you google. My fav is to cook with garlic, rosemary, sage, french mustard and dry white wine. As rabbit stew is likely to be rich and heavy I keep the veg simple. Maybe some small new potatoes and leeks or baby whole white turnips.
I usually accompany it with a full bodied burgundy wine such as Nuits St Georges, and for those that prefer white a well chilled Vouvray.
I also serve rabbit stew for a supper dish in autumn and winter accompanied with thick wedges of tomato and basil bread. Enjoy
Have a look at the River Cottage Cookbook by Hugh Fearnly- Whittingstall for loadds of ideas for cooking rabbit. Your idea sounds yummy, I'd go for a nice Zinfandel or Merlot with it.
