Can other diabetics tell me the best fruit to eat? i suspect i have been eating too much fruit and pushed up my blood sugar readings. What has the least sugar? Is it apples? Thanks

the simple answer is only to eat what you can hold in the palm of your hand, once per day. Use your imagination and do not go holding a whole melon or anything like that.
If canned makes sure it is contained in natural juices ! Cheers Hard@it
My consultant told me to avoid hot climate fruit and to have cooler climate fruit. I find apples and most of the berries really good. Although the chart is good to be aware of the sugar content it is probably better to get the GI values of the fruit ( a low GI takes longer to digest and therefore is slower to raise the sugar levels, so the levels even out rather than go up and down)
It is also best to take it easy on fruit juices, what I do is dilute 50/50 with water I got use to this really quickly and dont suffer any highs from this mix although it is different for everyone! I try to aim to eat or drink nothing with a sugar value above 7g per 100g, the lower the better, again this has worked for me as I managed to maintain my sugar levels by diet and excercise alone for 3 years rather than the predicted 6 months!!
