Hi, have decided to have lots of friends round tomorrow night (fri) to celebrate our engagement. We want to do some kind of buffet but nothing too fancy or complicated. Any suggestions of cheap but cheerfull things would be appreciated. :-)

Thanks tradey!! :-)
Its a great time of year for you for it, all the little tasty bits are out, sausage rolls, mini pizza, spring rolls, crisps and dips, nuts, chicken satay, etc etc. Even a few little sandwiches if you can be bothered making them.

Congratulations enjoy your night !
congratulations on your engagment. I would make a huge pot of chilli, curry and bolognese and then serve with jacket tatties, nachos chips and chunks of french stick. i always find that more satisfying than nibbles and also works out cheaper
Iceland is great as tradey says but you can spend an awful lot of time in the kitchen if things need heated etc.

Recently I organised a cold buffet lunch for 16 of us. Went to M&S and bought quiches, cocktail sausages, chicken wings/drumsticks, picnic eggs, sausage rolls, sandwich platters, crisps, dips (including taramasalta and humous), salmon roulades? etc all for about 60. All ready to eat.
tescos have just stocked their range of xmas buffet stuff, a lot of it is in the fresh fridges so if you still need stuff now you woulnt need to wait for it to defrost..
