I love my bread but am getting rather bored of the same old beans, scrambled egg, sardines., cheese... all the usual toast kinda toppings. Does anyone has any new tasty ideas i could try for a change? Thanks.x

You could have boiled egg the way we do!
Boil your egg til its runny in the middle, toast the bread and butter it then chop it into little squares!
Put in a bowl, then completely de shell the eggs, chuck them in the bowl & mix together! Add salt & Pepper!
WOW!!
Sounds good wiggal. I like a simple corned beef & brown sauce toastie. Gotta be done in a proper toastie machine to get the full effect.
personally i love marmite and orange marmalade on the same slice. gotta be orange in my opinion. dont say yuk till youve tried it!
Oh no! not corned beef! horrible stuff!
In a cheese toastie, it has to be cream cheese instead of butter, then some cheese, then raw onion & pepper. mmmmmm!
Im making myself hungry now!
Got to be either pate or crunchy peanut butter for me.

Wiggal what a great idea! That sounds yum! Can't wait to get home now! I'm afraid i don't really like corned beef so may give that one a miss! But thanks anyway..someone has to like it! But i do love marmite so will also try your idea too mandiemoo. Thanks guys! Keep em coming! Remember there are 7 nights in a week for a different topping every night!x
Ummm i cant think of anything else really! Im actually wheat intolerant so shouldnt be eating it in the first place but dont stick to my diet!
I'll have a think and get back to you!
what about humous on toast, pate on toast or fried muchrooms on toast.
Roast starling breast, with a redcurrant sauce ... seriously, try it.
For breakfast - while the toast is still warm so it gets a little melty - peanut butter.

For dinner when you have had salmon the night before: After dinner, crumble the salmon, add a little mayo, olive oil, chopped onion & dry Italian Seasoning. Leave in the fridge overnight. Great on toast or in a wrap or on a green salad the next day.

Ahhh thank you all so much. These are some great ideas. I have printed them all off to make sure i don't forget them! I am loving the salmon suggestion BBWCHATT. Can i just ask a quick question, how bad for me is peanut butter, always been a little afraid of eating as i was always told as a child its so bad for me, but i know i used to love it. Thanks.x
Pink - the only problem I know about with peanut butter is that it is a little fattening - but you only need a small amount to smear on your toast - just a tablespoon or two - unless you have a peanut allergy of course :) This is from wikipedia:

Health benefits
Peanut butter provides protection against cardiovascular disease due to high levels of monounsaturated fats and Resveratrol. An excellent source of protein, and vitamins B3 and E, peanuts also contain magnesium, folate, dietary fiber and arginine.

Peanuts also contain high levels of an antioxidant called p-coumaric acid.

The leftover salmon is one of my favorites - I always make extra so I can have it the next day:)

remember one of the jamie oliver sainbo ads - it was toasted ciabatta, but i use bread - with baby leeks, tomatoes and cheese & lots of peper :) simply delicious
Cheese and Jam goes down a treat!
Advocado, bacon and brie :-)
why not make yourself a mini pizza on toast : base cover toast in tomato ketchup, then add onion plus salami (or tuna, or ham) then add grated cheese then stick it back under the grill to melt cheese... yummy !!! you can put anything on it similar to a real pizza.
Plastic cheese and marmite
Farmhouse cheddar and jam
Crunchy peanut butter
Egg toastie (you need to put a slice of bread in a sandwich toaster, crack an egg onto it, then put the other slice of bread on the top and close the lid really quickly!)
Cold spaghetti bolognaise is good !!!
Thin slices of banana. Or if you like mash it up a bit. I prefer the sliced option.
peanut butter and sliced banana on toast! Put peanut butter on first, then top with banana slices and slightly mash the banana into the peanut butter... yum! Especially good on granary bread.

Great question btw!
