Hi Everyone

Mr Picky has had a bit of a bad do with his gall bladder, and whilst he is waiting for it to be removed, he has been advised to go on a fat free (well less that 4% fat, per 100g), no red meat diet. We are trying hard to keep it interesting, but we are running out of ideas. If anyone has any suggestions for meals I would be very grateful.

Thanks, Picky xx

I hate to see answers with just links but I think I need to do the same.http://www.chiff.com/recipe/recipe-search.htm will give some ideas - I think if you google search "diet for gall bladder problems" or "gall bladder diets" you may get more links. My friend was cautious of the red meat she ate, did eat a lot of fish and pasta and avoided spreads and oils with a high saturated fat content. Dairy products are a no go (like fresh cream) right now. Hope this helps you a bit.

Thanks very much everyone - I will be heading to the supermarket tomorrow with my recipes and ingredients list (like the sound of the mushroom stew lots!). Appreciate all the suggestions

Just had mine out over Christmas. The only thing that bothered me was eating chocolate. That really really got my britches in a knot. Otherwise I ate normally without distress.
Rosemary Conley started doing what she does because of her gall bladder - she didn't want surgery, so did some research. All her recipes are 4% fat or less. Her classes are also excellent as they do an aerobic workout as well.

Thanks again for all your answers, but he had his gall bladder taken out last Thursday, so doesn't have to worry so much now! Saying that, he's lost nearly 3 stone and looks and feels fab for it, so there's a lot to say for this low fat diet business!!
