I've just found out that after suffering from IBS for 12 years that the cause is bl00dy onions. Does anyone know of a website that has recipes wihout onions, they are in practically everything, I'm really struggling for dinners.

Thanks

Rocky - have you considered using a slow cooker? Just put a large frozen chunk of meat in it before you go to work - no liquid at all - sprinkle on any herbs/spices you want to use - when you get home, even the toughest cuts will be falling apart tender - works with a whole chicken too. Then all you have to do is roast some potatoes and cook some green vegetables and you have a meal that is totally onion free.
can't you do just the same meals as before, but omit the onions? stew, cottage pie, casseroles, curry, etc. - exactly the same but minus onions. roast dinners don't have onions, it's easy to take onions off a pizza, meals with fish generally don't have onions...etc...etc. add more veg instead, or herbs or spices. if you think about it, there's actually lots of things you can still eat - well, everything really, but leave out the onion.
You can order any pizza or sandwich without the onions - just say "no onions" please - I am allergic to them:)

I have been trying to think of foods you CAN'T get without onions - and other than onion rings or something like that - I can't think of ANY!!!
is it cooked ot raw onions?

my dad can only eat cooked onion...
Hiya Rocky, first of all, sympathy to u for your IBS, isn't it rotten ( and so underestimated a condition ! )

Secondly, how on earth did u manage to narrow it down to onions ? I've been told on numerous occasions to keep a food diary but found it impossible to get results from it.

Well done to you !!!!!!!!!!!
I have a similar problem, i find if i grate or mince the onion (finely chopped, isn't enough) I can tolerate a small amount.
The problem for me is I can't break down the fibre. I hope this helps.
