Add honey to the lemon and garlic...cut slashes in the chicken and push crushed garlic into them. you could also add grain mustard and/or soy sauce to this. If you like heat try thai sweet chillie sauce. A tsp of Knorr powdered chicken could also be added.....happy experimenting!

I do lemon and garlic and its fantastic - especially bbqed!

For every 2 chicken breasts use 1 lemon, 1 clove of garlic and 2tbsp olive oil.

Juice the lemons, grate their peel and crush the garlic. Add to this the oil, some salt and pepper and some thyme, marinade for 2 hours and enjoy!

Hi Hardy49,
Try adding a little chilli to the lemon and garlic mixture but a good jerk marinade is also tres tasty ! You don't need to make it yourself many shops do bottled marinades now. Enjoy !

Thank you all very much for your suggestions
I part light soy sauce
1 part soft brown sugar
1 part golden syrup
2 parts tomato ketchup

(substitute "parts" with teaspoons, table spoons, buckets or whatever)

You can add garlic and chilli even a dash of lime juice if you want but the above gives you the most gorgeous BBQ sauce marinade and is simple to make
