i am makin a beef cassrol do i put water in the base as well as the container i have lost my manuel can anyone help thanks

Nooooo - the liquid only goes in the container. However, if you have a fairly large piece of beef, you won't need any liquid - just sprinkle on the herbs, put the lid on it and turn it on low. You don't even have to thaw it out if it is frozen.
