Have recently been dipping in and out of Nigella Lawson's cookery books and see that she loves her Kitchenaid Artisan mixer. They cost 350 from John Lewis (could find one cheaper no doubt but still pricey) and there's no way my husband will ok such a purchase (despite my arguments that making my own bread and cakes will save money)! I want one just as good with a dough hook and all of the accesories and if poss I want it to look good- any ideas or recommendations? The Kitchenaid one is GORGEOUS! Thank you.

Can't personally vouch for the Kitchenaid mixer as such, but we have the blender and it was worth every penny. Powerful, controlable, robust and totally snazzy to boot... couldn't ask for more. If our kitchen permitted (newish build with kitchen designed more for reheating rather than proper cooking) we would definitely have the mixer!
get the mixer and dump the Hubby.....
