I am starting a rebellion against poncy supermarket sandwiches with there posh expensive fillings - what about marmite or Jam cut into 4 neat little squares!

I had 4 little bovril sambos today just like my mum used to put in my lunch box! (with crusts on)

Who's going to follow suit tommorrow?

cheese and Tomato puree
Boiled egg butties- no fancy smanchy mayo or salad cream, just good oldfashioned chopped up boiled eggs. Served in white bread that's not bloody freezing because it's been sat in a chiller for a day.

Did you use to fold your luncheon meat in half and bite the middle to make a big hole pa__ul? My sister and I used to make luncheon meat glasses and pretend we were Elton John :)
Ooooo forgot the ultimate- crisp butties!!!
with a bit paste though BOO!!
peanut butter and salad cream...........yum
Ooooh BOO, I love crisps in sandwiches!! I'm not really a sarnie fan, but if I have crisps in 'em then that's a whole different story.

I always loved cheese & onion in a white crusty roll. Mmmm...

Peanut butter and Salad Cream? Were you off sick from School often Red Crx?

Whats wrong with good old sandwich Spread or Shrimp paste!
Does no one else hate cold bread then? :-(

working in the Co Op, we tend to buy our lunch from there, and I always get my sandwich out of the chiller as soon as I get there as I really can't stand cold bread, it's just wrong!

Cold bread goes all pappy - so yes I agree

If at home for lunch then I sometimes I even get the Toastie machine out for an airing

Oh I've been saying just that for ages BN! Ironically, the worst places to get a basic butty are hospital cafe/restaurants...some of the mixtures in them are nauseating. Perhaps there's a shortage of 'gastric' patients.

retro butties....
dairylea - with a slice of tomato if you were lucky
corned beef & brown sauce
egg & cress (or grass as my son called it)
& the 'dip from the pan when you'd had a fry-up....naughty, naughty.

oooh , I know what you mean B00, about cold bread - slightly warm, possibly curling up is far better, lol.
it never made me sick.
Chicken paste, corned beef and pickle, and polony sausage were also good
