to make room for thr extras like onion rings and stuff!! but then the rule with doilies is that round ones do sweet and oval ones do savoury - dont know if there's a connection

Here in the USA - I think the only round steak is a filet mignon - the rest are more oval shaped than round. Do you think that might be one of the reasons?
