back in 1980-81 i used to deliver overalls around south wales and every wednesday morning at 7am i used to call on a butchers in blackwood and on walking into the shop would be confronted by trays of freshly cooked faggots. as a perk of the job i could purchase the faggots for half pence each. my driver and i would buy a whole tray of about twelve faggots still hot from the oven and we would then sit in our lorry and scoff the lot. i love faggots and with peas chips and gravy they are delicious. plenty of pepper too. drooooool!!!! do you know of any similar things from other cultures or countries? ace63 wales

I make trays of the stuff every week, and after a while the smell turns on me. But a piping hot, fresh faggot, cooked in a good stock...mmmmmm, you can't beat it! (The fattier the pork the better ;) !)
