Cast your mind back to the 1970s when you could get pink penny bubble gum. They were about the size of a 10p and quite thick, wrapped in waxed paper that you had to untwist. Anyway, any idea if they're still on sale anywhere? Thanks.

Yep they were called Angelo bubblies. I bought some recently at a vintage sweet shop in Lincoln.

Ooooooh thank you. I will scout the area for them this afternoon! Yay!!!
Oh Bubblies, I remember them, we used to dunk them in sugar when the sweetness had gone and if I recall rightly they used to get really tough to chew after a while, made your jaws ache. Havent seen them in years, that said, I haven't been looking for them either.
I don't think they are on general sale any more. The shop I bought them from specialised in retro sweets. However, I suppose Angelo must still make them in otherwise the shop wouldn't have had any.
nfn if you find them will you get me some too, I've got 5 pence left over from my pocket money. Actually I remember when you could get 2 for a penny, I feel old now

:-o(

No tamirra, there were Bakooka Joe bubble gums too. They were pink rectangles and I think they used to have a little comic strip or joke wrapped around them.
