I made a beautiful chicken curry on Tuesday and have left it in the fridge. Could I still have it today, if warmed through properly in a microwave? Or am I at the risk of having the runs all over the weekend!?

Thanks in advance!

If I was you I would have it today. These things usually last me 4 days.
Hi, I would think it was fine as long as you made sure that you thoroughly reheated it. I normally think that, for meat, reheating a cooked meal after three days is ok, but wouldn't leave it longer than that. So if you don't think you'll eat it today then I would freeze it for a later date - but when you come to defrost it, make sure you eat it stright away after it's thawed.

I wouldn't reheat fish or shellfish. I'd also be very careful about keeping and reheating rice - I once went on a food hygiene awareness course where the trainer said that reheating leftover rice was a big cause of food poisoning. I can't remember how long she said it was ok to ekep cooked rice but she did stress that you had to really make sure it was boiled again properly.

Many thanks, saves me making lunch! I have also heard about the boiled rice risk, although my mum keeps the rice out for 2-3 days in the pan it was made from and reheats in microwave and I've been fine for 23 years!
Just make sure you have enough loo rolls on hand, should there be a problem.
If I am using leftover food I always check it, taking note of any smell or signs of small bubbles in it if there is an odd smell or bubbles I throw it out, if not I just make sure that I bring it up to boiling point again before I eat it.
