Now this may seem like a silly question to some but i am deadly serious. ;-)

I want to live in a tree house, not just a bog standard, run of the mill tree house but a nice, comfy, no expense spared tree house.
What i want to know is, firstly, can my tree house be made out of bricks (i have a friend who says absolutely not but i think he's just jealous that it wasnt his idea)

secondly, if i can (which im sure i can) build it from bricks, roughly how many bricks will i need to order from B & Q? It has to be a decent size, so no skimping.

Have you ever made a tree house or more impressively, lived in one? Or, would you like to live in one? Would you come and visit me in mine if i made you a cup of tea and dished out cream cakes and chocolate?

Sorry I can't answer your questions but, will you promise me that I can visit when it's built?

I'll bring a step-ladder, I would bring my own ladder but it left home when I was 5
You on the sauce already jules?

I have no experience of tree dwelling...

Best ask Munkeeluvaa :o))

Oh hi jules honey , a brick tree house , a shed load of bricks and a very big tree I would expect . Not my scene though , I like my home comforts too much , and don't you have to climb up to get into it ? xxx

4GS, aside from you calling me a nutter, which i shall overlook, this time ;-) of course i promise you can visit, so long as you wipe your feet on my welcome mat of course! coming in that is, not when youre leaving!

No worries about the ladder, i am hoping to have one, well i am am only 5'3" so im gonna need one at all times really. I think one that pulls up and down would be good, dont you? Dont want any strange hobos climbing into my brick abode whilst i catch up on my beauty sleep now do i?

What cake would ya like for when im ready for ya? Bloody hell, just had a thought, i hope B00 doesnt show up, its gonna cost me a fortune!

hey Vic, somehow i dont think munkeeluvva would want to visit my tree house, he can make his own :-)
Not on the sauce, this is me, stone cold sober, scary eh???

bigmamma, YES cakes!!! it would have all the home comforts and some! Once inside, you'd never even know you were in a tree house.

so any thoughts on bricks then? Can it be done cause i have some concerns. I got told this horror story once, terrifying it was, involved some little piggies so obvioulsy thats a concern of mine.
Ohh, Jules - that sound like a good idea. Not too sure about the bricks...but my ex works for Ibstock so maybe he could get you a deal. You're only down the road from me I think, so a visit is definately on the cards!!
Hiya Julie, would be lovely to live in a tree house, never had one as a kid, No trees where I lived, but make yours out of wood, and Yes please can I come and see you when you move in?

Nice warm jam doughnut for me please. xx
Question Author
hippyhoppy, yes i know ibstock bricks! Perfect! A deal sounds good to me and seeing as youre near, you could even help me build it! Hows that for an offer you cant refuse???? ;-)

ray, not bricks???? You sure? You know i trust you on D.I.Y issues, you being my adviser but i dont think you're stretching your imagination here to be honest.
You want warm jam doughnuts? Should be able to warm them up in my Aga! No worries! Home comforts mamma, i told ya, no skimping.
I'm not afraid of getting my hands mucky - won't be the fist time (tee hee).. just let me know when and where...
Right Julie find that tree and izzy wizzy lets get busy, what can you see from the round window? my god its people coming towards the tree house wanting to hang Ray from it.

Pull up the ladder quick, cheers Julie, your a goodun xx
when I was young the climbing of trees

was viewed as a trifle unsound.

now everyone does up in trees as they please

and I sit alone on the ground.
Question Author
ray i have put this on your mucky filth thread but i will tell you here too, you gave me a fab idea for a finishing touch to my tree house, a special place for hanging the male species by their gonads!

hippy, i will pay you in cream cakes, is that ok?
-- answer removed --
Righto Doc, I will drop the ladder down, get up here quick, don't let em get you, cos you a deffo to be hung by your gonads as well as me.
Maybe.
I insist.. and that should have read 'first time'. don't want anyone getting the wrong idea. This is my daughters laptop and it's so grubby that the keys stick and don't always work properly - sorry...
Question Author
well yes sort of gravitiate but i did kinda have my heart set on a tree house, its the romantic in me.
Have you lived in a water cooling tower? If so, was it nice? and did you provide cream cakes for visitors?
I had the best tree house ever when I was younger, had a ladder going up and a proper door and window, unfortunately no seal round windows, in window all earwigs got in-between the windows and my mate pulled the door off :-(
