wieght watchers and quiche

Does anyone happen to know how many WW points would be in 1/4 of a 6" shop bought quiche ? I don't have the little book that tells you all the point values,

Then in front of a group of other people get embarrased and shamed that maybe you had one extra slice of quiche than you should have had.
Try eating a nice fresh fruit salad with slices of apple in it. There's a chemical in apple skin that suppresses appetite.
Also strips of carrott in the fridge make a healthy alternative to other fridge snacks.

3 points sweetheart ! a quarter is 5 points. That is based on one with ham and cheese in it.
I am an expert at WW having struggled all my life with weight. I have done WW (and quite well at it) until my back injury a couple of years ago when I piled it all back on. The only diets I reckon are any good are WW and Slimming World.
I had a Gastric Band Operation following my back injury and putting on weight up to 21.stones 5lbs and in 10 months have now lost 11 stones. Its a killer though and I would say to you take one day at a time with WW, if you slip, just dont beat yourself up, simply go back to it the next day.

Anything worthwhile in life is NOT EASY and you just keep thinking of the summer and all those lovely clothes you will be able to wear when you are a few pounds less.

I have been overweight to the point of paranoia but Weight watchers seems to punnish people in front of everyone else for not losing a set amount of weight over a period of time.
It's not a healthy way to approach it mentally.
I love food. I can't live without it.
Healthier diet and varying excercise and a hobby do help too.

Mata sweetheart, dont get yourself wound up over silly comments, there are plenty of folk on here who WILL help and advise you.
Weight Watchers IS Healthy Eating, I loved it and used to have a real laugh with girls there of similar humour to me. (We used to get weighed and be sinful thereafter), however, depriving yourself can be torturous and that is how folk fail to lose weight. Our bodies crave for what it needs, be that carbs, sweet stuff, protein etc. Beleive you ME, I would rather have a piece of quiche than an apple ANYDAY! And a little bit of what you fancy does not do you any harm.
My fave at Weight Watchers were Quavers with a Mug of Hot Bovril. 1.5 points in total !
My treat on a Friday night was King Prawn Chop Suey from the Chinese with half a portion of Rice. 6 Points in Total. You dont need a full portion of rice! Add Soy Sauce or Worcester Sauce for extra flavour - Yum.
I hate to say this to you because you will probably go off and get some now but just to let you know that half a portion of chips from the chippy with gravy and a slice of bread lightly buttered is 5 and a half points. You dont need a FULL portion of chips do you !

You keep up your hard work sweetheart, it will pay off. I am down from a size 30 - 32 top and 26 - 28 jeans to a 12 combats and a 14 - 16 top in 10 months.
The other thing you should know if you already dont, is KEEP AWAY from ANYTHING with Saccarin in it, you are better to have a coffee with 1 sugar and fizzy flavoured water than a diet drink. With Saccarin, your body thinks it has had sugar and when it realises that it hasnt then it craves for more which is WHY we ALWAYS want chocolate in the afternoons.
Thats NORMAL - NOT SINFUL !

Cockney, we werent saying that they were snide hun, its just that sometimes when folk ask a question some replies are snide. Not yours however. You will know yourself that when dieting its flipping hard going and whatever support you can get is always great. I understood what you were saying in that a little bit of what you fancy doesnt do you any harm. When on weight watchers though, those points make prizes and the prizes being weight loss. I have struggled most of my life with weight as you say you have and Mata was simply looking for support and anyone in the know as to how many points were actually in a slice of quiche. Quiche isnt made of fresh air and can be quite calorific. I understand your point however on the fresh fruit bit, only sometimes, fresh fruit can be the last thing you actually want when that quiche in the shop is SCREAMING BUY ME BUY ME.
Like you, I too love food, (and all the rest too, alcohol, fags, etc).
Please dont take offence, my comments were indeed NOT directed at YOU PERSONALLY, I simply wanted to reasurre mati on the points and give her some support with her diet.

Well, all I wanted to know was how many points were in a piece of quiche I have just had out at lunch and stumbled onto this topic all about quiche! What an eye opener.
I think WW is fantastic, having reached my target weight three years ago. I have just rejoined as I have found myself creeping back up the scale and also need to understand the new points system. WW do not punish you for gaining weight and are so supportive. So what if we do eat something we know we shouldn't, on the new WW system they make an allowance for this by giving you extra points for such occasions.
Of course extra exercise, a varying diet and a hobby do help, but not everyone is in a position to do extra exercise or take up a hobby. WW encourages a varying diet and I always try at least one of the recipes handed out at the meetings.
So come on ladies, let's all try and help one another on this by passing on a few useful tips instead of sarcastic comments.
