Kids Birthday Cake (farm)

We are having a farm themed 3rd Birthday. Any suggestions for an easy design for me to make?

do a chocolate swiss roll and decorate it so it looks like a pig in a mud pool. use pink icing 4 the features.

Cover a big square cake in green icing. Buy a cheapo toy tractor, cows, sheep etc. Make fences out of matchmaker chocolates. Hey presto, a farm. My nephew loved his a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks - think even I can manage a green square!! Good idea about the animals - will try to get some small enough so that each kiddy has one for his plate!

Jilly, Scubadiver's idea brought back many memories. We did just this for my son's third birthday many years ago and added some different coloured icing for ploughed fields, etc. Each child could take an animal home with him as a pressie.
