I recently bought a juicer for fruit and veg. thinking fresh juices would make nice drinks. Despite putting lots of fruit in very little juice came out. The fleshy fibre that one would normally eat was just left mashed up and scattered around the inside. It was still quite wet so I tried a faster speed but it made little difference. Do other have similar experiences and can anyone recommend a juicer that's worth having?

I have a breville juicer that is great. You can put whole apples in it, no need to chop and the pulp is practically dry. The model isn't available anymore but they still have quite a selection available and surely the new models can't be worse than previous ones. I can make two pints of carrot, celery and carrot juice in about a minute and have a big bowl of soapy water ready to wash it up while I'm drinking.

Thank you kpinsiff. I'll certainly explore the breville type juicers. Yours sounds a good idea, being able to put fruit and veg in whole without chopping them up first. The one I had was a waste of money and I dumped it to go to 'land fill' - a case of learning by mistake.
