I just ate a box of prawns i month out of date

as the title, i been eating a box of king prawns and i have only just found out they are 29 days out of date, a long story how this happen, I need urgent advice, am i going ot be ill, i have eaten at least half the box., had them for yesterday lunch and todays lunch

if they didn't stink to high hell and didn't taste too bad, you may just get away with it.

I'd stay close to a toilet if I were you!

If they were from the freezer, then you have nothing to fear.

How do nasty bugs grow at -20c?

Hi, Have they been in the freezer? If so, they will be ok. If not, you may get very very bad food poisoning. If you start feeling ill, go to hospital straight away. Fish is the most dodgy food if it is out of date or not cooked properly. And seafood is the worst!

they were indonesian king prawns tail with chilli and coriander & lime, so they do smell different, a business i deal with gives me a box of fishfood like mussels and prawns every month, all in there supermarket boxes, all the other boxes are with good dates, but will dipping in the box five minutes ago notice the date while i was eating one and spat in out, just had huge row with my wife for not checking date after eating them in my last 2 meals.

My wife has eaten about a quarter of the box also, we are bth very worried at the moment.

right they were refrigerated, not frozen, my wife opened the packet not me, and we are still argueing, i ate them in sandwiches prepared by my wife., both feel ok at the minute, but the whole now i know i feel sick, but didnt before knowing so i think we r ok at the minute,

can someone tell me what sort of reaction time for any illness please, we had them for lunch 4 hours ago

If you had some of them yesterday without complaint, you may get away with it. Just monitor the situation. If you start feeling sick, Chills, or you star getting the runs phone the NHS Direct. Dont know the number, but they will come out to you if your really ill.

still feeling ok at the moment, the thought of eating these prawns with an expiry on 10/09/08 will take along time to clear from my brain. my wife and I are still rowing about it big time at the moment. and cant get hold of my mate who supplied them, although that wont help anyhow.

anyone what another 26 packs of king prawns free of charge with good dates in the norwich area.

with a bad food poisoning youd normally feel pretty rough rather quickly, IE within hours. Hope youve been lucky enough not to suffer.

Sounds as if youve been lucky but its not your wifes fault, you didnt check the box either. Its not as if she deliberatly gave you them is it. If she did she was a bit silly to eat some herself lol

still ok, phoned my mate he has said the packaging at factory could be incorrect, thousands of them he will confirm tommorrow, i hope bloody so.

My wife opened the package and put them in sandwiches so i only saw all the boxes together, and all the rest were fine.

I do deal with ford as a company on a daily basis and also busseys in norwich, who do u mean when you say fords of norfolk, i may be able to help you
