Could anyone please tell me the difference between "Cook Out", "Cook Off" and "Cook Down".

I hear them all the time but to my untrained ear it all just seems to mean "Reduce".

Can anyone enlighten, please...

Thanks.

LOL! :-)

In reality - all the TV chefs seem to staring into a sauce pan when they say them - it always looks the same sort of thing to me.
Cook out...when you are say starting a curry and you cook out the spices..... Cook off....finishing the dish....Cook down ..reducing the liquid.
