Squitty, never heard of stinking bishop but like the sound of it, is it a local cheese or is it available in certain shops everywhere, would love to try some,
lol 20
Not Smokie please! That will give me nightmares, never mind the cheese
Gotta be Shropshire Blue, or Ossau-Iraty from the Pyrenees or maybe Comte. Plus Taleggio melted over hot potatoes does it for me!
Bowland cheese for me. ( Morrisons sell it during the Christmas period.)
It's a mature cheddar with mixed spice and raisins - very moorish.

Rum Rule, and White Cheshire.
Hi squitty - I've had stinking bishop several times - in fact whenever we can source it. We find shop assistants a bit unwilling to uncover and slice it because of its smell!
It is seriously gorgeous - similar to the camembert I knew as a child (50 years ago. Great flavour, but not too powerful. Wonderfully soft and runny.

I adore a really strong mature cheddar but try not to eat too much of it, cos it's such a high fat product. Another couple I am partial to are smoked applewood (great in cooking, say a slice on top of stuff mushrooms or peppers.... wonderful) and white (not blue) stilton... trouble is, it's really hard to find that !

I'm eating a couple of pumpkin seed & oat crispbreads with cottage cheese (onion & chives) at the moment.... delicious !
am i the boring one here ? mild chedder cheese only, i have tried most of the cheeses mentioned on this thread but alas i find them to strong.
