I'm trying to use up some bits in the freezer. I have all the stuff i need to make a C&M pie....chicken, mushrooms, various condensed soup and some frozen shortcrust pastry. Can i use shortcrust pastry instead of puff pastry ?.....would i need to blind bake for 10 mins ?
I plan to line the pie dish on the bottom and sides as well as the top with the pastry.
Sure you can use shortcrust, but I would blind bake the mixture as you are going to use liquid in it, so you don't want it to be completely soggy and fall to bits, do you?!!!
