I bought an M&S curry and stuck it in the freezer. I took it out to defrost, and realised it says "do not freeze".

so what's the worst that can happen?

the oven is pre-heating..
It will taste like a Tesco curry.

i would cook it anyway!
i think it would be fine, it just wont taste as fresh =o) enjoy it.

Chuck, this is not just a curry, it's an M&S curry!

mccfluff, king prawns, haddock, coconut milk, single cream (and other stuff). the use-by date is 10th Nov (the day I bought it) so it's not OLD old ;o)

hey WhiteBears :O) nice to see you and yeah.. I'm tempted!
LOL sara3 !
You will live to fight another day !
i'd think its cos of the cream then, should be ok, i'd eat it!
I would cook it too, I've done that loads of times in the past, make sure it's cooked properly right through and the biggest problem will probably be the prawns will be a bit rubbery (like I said, it will taste like a tesco curry :))
I think sometimes they put on "do not freeze" if some of the ingredients have already been frozen and defrosted so you're not meant to re-freeze. With fish/seafood I personally wouldn't like to risk it, maybe just me though!

purplepoodle, thanks.. but you're outnumbered, lol!

it's in the oven, so if I never post again you can stand proud in the knowledge that you were right ;o)

oh nice, Tambo!

I have quite a strong constitution so that's unlikely.. but I'll be sure to let you know, lol!
The heat shock will destroy anything lurking and so make sure you pre-heat the oven well, it would be better if you could zap it though.

it wont harm you, main reason they warn not to freeze is because if you do so, the formula will separate (water+solids) and will lose it's consistency.
