Cheese fondue - what fuel to use?

I have a fondue and don't know what fuel to use in it for a cheese fondue. The bit that heats the fondue looks like this ...

Anybody got any ideas?

Some sites seem to suggest liquid (alcohol), or fondue gel.
But where on earth sells it? Hardware store, supermarket?!

meths, thats what i use in mine, you can get a small bottle of the blue coloured stuff at most hardware stores, B+Q ect.

Just to agree with Dave,
We always use meths.
It burns with a more intense heat than other fuels,and it doesn't smell when burning like some of the gels that are available.
Of course if you get really p!ssed off you can always drink it! LOL

I remember asking for meths and being asked why I wanted it. I told the chemist I was having a party. Maybe not the smartest answer!

I used meths but it burned too hot and the cheese was bubbling too much. We ended up using a tealight which worked well. I think meths would be better for an oil/meat fondue.
