corkage fee... what should i provide?

one day, a customer asked me why u charge the corkage fee(per bottle) because you didn' offer service. Such as he brought the wine that didn't need to open by wine knife (no cork) and we should stand by to pour wine while the glass is empty. (If doing like that, how many labour costs will be inclused as a small establishment?) Some will define it includes those wine glass, chilling or breathing time..
So those restaurants charge corkage fee, what kind of services do they provide?

Do you have a wine list? I reckon corkage is correctly charged in lieu of the customer buying from it. Screw top or not. Personally, if you've gone to the trouble of selecting wines for sale and if you inform customers of the fee on entry, I don't see a problem with charging what you like!
Out of interest, what do you charge and what kind of establishment are you?

(Perhaps the customer would like to bring his own food, table and chair too!)

i dont think its a literal thing, its just a fee that places charge to let you bring in your own booze and it applies to any drinks, cans etc
you are paying them to be allowed to consume your own drinks on their premises.
you dont have to do anything.

do you mean the customer bought wine from you and you didn't serve it?

Normally a wine list is offered to customer for choice, the label on bottle proferred to customer to accept. Bottle opened by waiter & third of glass filled for customer to taste & accept. When accepted the wine glass is duly filled by waiter & bottle placed in iced wine bucket, at the table.....For service & wine £20 to £££s :)
they bought the wine, you provided the glass. they should pour they're own wine.
