Am I the only one that thinks that when it comes to Mayonnaise it has to be Hellmans? All the others taste plasticky or off. And yes I could easily do a blindfold test.
Nope me too. I have nothing against buying shops brands but there are some things I have to buy named. Mayonaise has to be hellmans, Ketchup has to be heinz, and baked beans, branston or heinz, all shop brand beans taste like bullets. Although I dont mind if I get a burger from kebab or a mcchicken sandwich and they use that sweet tasting mayo.
Agreed that sweet mayo's ok. I used to be a heinz ketchup fan, but brought the tesco's own brand one which tastes more tomatoey and less sweet then heinz's.
I agree. But have you bought the squeezy version?...it is a nightmare when you have nearly finished the bottle. Can't get it out for love nor money. Same for ketchup. They put this seal thingy in the hole and it is impossible to get the stuff out. Infuriating!
Hellmans mayonnaise TV ad says that it's made with 'real ingredients'. Despite thinking about this long and hard, neither I nor any of my friends can name a mayonnaise that uses 'imaginary ingredients'!! I find Hellmans has a background oilyness to it that I don't like.
