Gooseberry's

I absolutly love em but I haven't seen any in the shops yet so have I missed them as I know they are not around for very long?

mine ripened just over a week ago, but I've grown a pink, sweeter variety this year that is an early variety, everything is supposed to be abut a fortnight late because of the bad weather this year so no, you haven't missed them yet in the shops (mine are very sheltered that's why they were 'on time' so to speak

did you see hugh fearnly-whatshisname make a cheese cake (with cheese he made himself from his goats milk) with a gooseberry sauce? it looked totally delish.

Waitrose have some on sale as have Morrisons

saw some green ones & pink ones on the market yesterday

Got some in the local greengrocers last week and gently poached and sweetened them and added to my museli and yoghurt in the mornings!!!

The pink ones are gorgeous - my neighbour grows them - sweet enough to eat raw.
