Green Peppers

I was told today that green peppers shouldn't be eaten raw as they are sharp and can perforate your innards. This sounds like a load of rubbish to me but has anyone else heard about it?

I don't think he was drunk!
I was actually at work and helped him find the red peppers, I mentioned we also had packs of red and yellow peppers on offer but he said "Urgh I don't like yellow peppers, or green peppers...did you know some people eat green peppers raw?!" I replied that I liked green peppers raw, it was then he said that I shouldn't eat them raw as they have sharp edges! He didn't appear to be kidding but maybe he was, didn't believe him either way!
Did a Google search before asking on here and a couple of websites said that green peppers are unripe red/yellow peppers so should be avoided (am going to ignore this as well!) but no mention of sharp edges!
