How do I cook it and for how long?

I need to look it up but I usually boil it for a few minutes to get rid of the saltiness, then bake it. There is a lovely recipe somewhere where you baste it with apricot jam.

yer just need good plain cooking, I've seen some of the fruity sauces, not my cup of tea

i soak it in cold water overnight then bake it wrapped in tin foil.

yer how long cooking times?
Depends on size. Bring to boil & discard fluid (too salty). Boil again in fresh water & simmer @ 20mins per lb.
25 mins per kilo + 25 mins - rest for 10 mins before carving
arrghh..........per pound, per pound !
nice one jack, be funny to use the kilo recipe might be a tad underdone !
You can boil it in ginger beer, dry cider or cola (don't use "diet" drinks though)

When done....dry it off, cover in mustard and bake for 20 minutes.
