dont like green beans or mustard or pepper sauce lol. See I was thinking mashed pots, veggies, sweetcorn, but just wondered if anyone had a yummy alternative
if i had leftovers, i'd chop it up, fly with onions, add rice and stock till you had a rissotto then put hard boiled eggs sliced on top and cover with cheese sauce
This recipe hasn't got any cheese in it though - http://www.bbc.co.uk/...hinoisepotatoes_90205 (we go through pounds of cheese in this house - the kids will only eat extra mature - even the little ones).
As a major bonus - if you had the potato stuff and the bacon you could just shove them in the oven and forget about them! (My favourite sort of cooking.)
I usually do posh chips, (cut into squares) sweetcorn and warmed pineapple (in the oven sprinkled with brown sugar). Or with cauliflower cheese. My mum always used to make pease pudding with the bacon joint. It's a north-east Durham thing.
remove the veggies, add tblspoon of flour to sediment in baking tin & stir to paste (with back of spoon) gently heat on hob & add beer or wine to thin.
