Coarsely ground hulled corn boiled as a breakfast dish in the southern United States
I think it is like cat litter.

I used to eat a cereal type stuff called Grape Nuts - they're good. Maybe the same idea.

grits are coarsely ground hulled corn boiled as a breakfast dish in the southern United States, we had them when we went to Florida. A waitor kindly let us try the sweet version and the savory one which we all liked.
We found it to taste like scrambled eggs without the eggy taste (if that makes sense)

I found this recipe which sounds yum but don't know if I can get it here.
