Mushroom identification

I have been unable to identify this mushroom (they are all the same type) - does anyone on AB recognise it and also know whether it is edible ? http://tengi.net/mushrooms.jpg

It looks like a Russula species but could be several others. Identifying it definitively would require more information such as where it was found, ie what kind of trees close by? what colour the flesh goes when cut or bruised. You need to show them to an expert. Probably not poisonous but not worth eating. May make you sick.
