I love mashed potatoes but never seem to get them as tasty as I want them, I mash them with milk and butter but they are still a bit bland, any suggestions?
Apparently you are supposed to put in the equivalent of a third of the weight of potato in butter/milk. I now put loads of butter in mine (half a pack at least) and my husband has noticed and commented on how much nicer they are (I don't tend to eat plain mash myself - I like mine with cheese).
ok get a ricer, gives you really smooth mash, then warm the milk and butter up add the potts and mash again. i add spring onions but that ob a personal taste. enjoy x
I grew up with cheese and potato pie - basically mash with cheese in with cheese on top, browned under the grill. I put way more cheese in than my mam or gran did and it is a family favourite (especially with a bit of smoked bacon and some grilled tomatoes).
