yes ???????????
You inviting us round?
I would still baste it to keep it moist.
Does it pluck itself too?
or stuff itself ?
don't really know - do self cleaning glass and ovens really work? Similar ideas.
As tigger, I would still baste it.
I would have to baste it too!...........just couldn't trust it not to be dry!..........
If you don't I reckon the breast will be very dry. Personally I prefer a leg, which is much moister.
Not good enough for me. I'd be basting.
sounds like the general opinion then is, there's no point in paying the extra for a self basting turkey, cos we don't trust the claim, and will baste anyway!...............lol......
I'd be basting it too - then wondering why it wasn't cooked when it was supposed to be even though I had be opening the oven door all the time.

And if you google 'self-basting turkeys-how do they work' like I did,you can also learn about artificial insemination..........the mind boggles... ;-0
apart from the last two years we've always had a ready basted turkey and find them very succulent...although a always cover them with bacon and baste them too.
last year was goose (overpriced and not worth the money), year before was fancy free range turkey (also overpriced and not worth the money). this year have gone back to basics and have an asda own brand ready basted turkey sitting in the utility room defrosting. i have every confidence it will be as good as any we've had in the past.
