I want to cook a leg of lamb (on the bone) in a slow cooker / crock pot. It is apprix 1.5 kg / 3lb. I want to use the low heat setting. How long should I let it cook for? Thanks in advance
Topcart haha . I know how ur missus feels cos yesterday I asked my hub to do an errand ( a very simple one !) and he forgot ...but went to play golf instead ! Still us ladies love ourblokes despite their memory lapses lol
Just make sure the lamb fits in the slow cooker....i made that mistake and ended up sawing through the bone to get it in :-D
If i do mine in the slow cooker (im more of an oven fan these days), i usually buy a couple of packets of "gravy for lamb" and throw that in the slow cooker along with lots of garlic cloves aqnd rosemary. I also brush the outside of the lamb with mint jelly (has to be jelly as it's sweeter)
You can then use the juice in the bottom of the cooker for gravy.
Cooked a small shoulder of lamb on low for 8 hours. Took it out of the slow cooker, pulled out the bones (it was that well done) and whacked it in a really hot oven to crisp up the fat. Lovely.
