As PF states, 10 to 12 minutes is about right for grilling. Even better, use a sharp knife to put a few slits in the skin, on both sides of the fish. Them microwave it for 2 to 2½ minutes. (Microwaving is the best way to cook trout).
it should be pink...and again-that's way too long, low heat or not. It will most likely be dried out.
Grilling is always done at a fairly high heat-that's the point.....hot and fast. Even if you were to bake it,the time needed would only be 5-10 minutes more.
Must be a huge trout to need grilling for an hour! Even on a low heat. Thats the good thing about fish, it cooks very quickly, (but also dries out if you cook it too long)
was it the actual trout that was a sickly white colour, or was it because you'd cooked it so slowly that the white stuff had come out of it, as it can with fish at the start of cooking?
An ordinary freshwater..?rainbow trout...I wonder if this one was spawning or something along that lines....something wasnt right....oh,well thanks you all.....if you never hear from me again....you know what to blame...
